Principal Analog Engineer - Signal path Architect (d/m/f)

Location: Garching

Your Duties

  • Define high performance analog / mixed-signal architectures for the full signal path and use advanced modeling techniques as well as transistor level design to verify performances
  • Breakdown architecture into block level specifications for analog and digital teams
  • Participate to internal and external design reviews
  • Define and assess future generation of architectures and contribute to technology roadmaps
  • Creative problem solver, able to generate new ideas and file patents

Your Qualifications

  • Successfully completed studies in Electrical Engineering or microelectronics – with an emphasis in analog / mixed signal Integrated Circuit Design or a similar specialty
  • Experience in signal path architecture definition as well as analog, mixed signal IC design and digital signal processing
  • Knowledge of full industrialization cycle
  • Strong knowledge in Matlab and Cadence EDA tools
  • Strong intuitive and analytical understanding of architectures and impact on noise, SNR, THD, linearity etc.
  • Expertise with modeling complex signal path architecture in time and frequency domain as well as circuit simulations, including PVT, Monte Carlo, mixed signal, modelling, optimization, etc.
  • Experience is required in some or all of the following: low-noise, low-power analog circuits, oscillators, PLLs, ADCs, DACs, TDCs LED drivers, LDOs, DC/DC converters, optoelectronics, digital signal processing and calibration techniques
  • Team player with excellent listening and communications skills, ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Excellent communication skills in oral and written English 
  • Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium der Elektrotechnik oder Mikroelektronik - mit Schwerpunkt auf analogem / Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuit Design oder einer ähnlichen Spezialisierung 
  • Erfahrung in der Definition von Signalpfad-Architekturen sowie analogem, Mixed-Signal IC-Design und digitaler Signalverarbeitung 
  • Kenntnisse des gesamten Industrialisierungszyklus 
  • Ausgeprägte Kenntnisse in Matlab und Cadence EDA-Tools 
  • Ausgeprägtes intuitives und analytisches Verständnis von Architekturen und Auswirkungen auf Rauschen, SNR, THD, Linearität usw.
  • Erfahrung mit der Modellierung komplexer Signalwegarchitekturen im Zeit- und Frequenzbereich sowie mit Schaltungssimulationen, einschließlich PVT, Monte Carlo, Mixed Signal, Modellierung, Optimierung usw.
  • Erfahrungen in einigen oder allen der folgenden Bereiche: analoge Schaltungen mit geringem Rauschen und geringer Leistung, Oszillatoren, PLLs, ADCs, DACs, TDCs, LED-Treiber, LDOs, DC/DC-Wandler, Optoelektronik, digitale Signalverarbeitung und Kalibrierungstechniken
  • Teamfähigkeit mit ausgezeichneten Zuhör- und Kommunikationsfähigkeiten, Fähigkeit, die Arbeit zu organisieren und Prioritäten zu setzen
  • Hervorragende Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Englisch in Wort und Schrift
